Memory Verse: Matthew 9:37: Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but labourers are few.
Witnessing demands labor.
And few want to do this strenuous work.
Nearly two thousand years have passed since Jesus put His finger on the problem that hinders world evangelism and His evaluation is still true . . . "the labourers are few." Many more are needed to work in the harvest.
One serious misconception that prevents labourers from entering the harvest is the belief that witnessing and soulwinning is only for pastors and evangelists. As long as Christians assign most outreach in communities to pastors, the work will be slow and discouraging. One or two men cannot evangelize a community of any size. And that is not the Bible way. God's plan calls for total involvement by members of church congregations. Only then does the church move like a mighty army.
Here and there one finds a church where a sizeable part of the membership is witnessing and winning souls. In that refreshing situation the church always grows and people are thrilled with the results.
What's happening in your church?
Recently, a man asked me where he could find a church that was really revived. I told him to start revival in hi own church. Revived churches do not lack for labourers. People are on fire for God and want to serve.
What is your temperature?
In your community, the harvest is plenteous.
Are you one of the labourers?
