3-2-07 Soulwinning "Proverbs 11:24-31"

Memory Verse: Proverbs 11:30: The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life: and he that winneth soulds is wise.

Every Christian ought to be a soulwinner.

Few are.

Students of statistics tell us that 95% of all Christians never win a soul to Christ. One hopes that they are wrong, but it is evident that too many branches are fruitless.

What does it take to be a soulwinner?

You must care. It is impossible to reap in this harvest without love. A pocketful of tools will be useless without real concern for people. It is not enough to love a man's soul. You must love the man, "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity {love}, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal" (I Corinthians 13:1).

You must use the power of prayer. You cannot high pressure souls into the kingdom. We are not commissioned to get names on contracts like door-to-door salesmen. This is spiritual work, and it requires spiritual power. The Holy Spirit works through praying Christians (Acts 4:31).

You must be willing to share. Souls are won by those who share what Christ has done for them. Few will be won by those who feel they fulfill their obligation by "living the Gospel." The Gospel is for living, but is also for telling. Tell someone about the day you received Christ. The same good news that changed your life will save others.
Become a soulwinner.

It's the wise thing to do!
