Memory Verse: Psalm 35:28: And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
Dr. Walter Wilson was a manufacturer of tents before God called him into full-time Christian work. In his office, he took care of minor injures of employees.
One day a woman came into his office. The needle of a machine had deeply pierced her finger. Dr. Wilson dressed the injured finger and before he allowed her to return to work, he asked the superintendent to examine the safe-guards on the machine. "There's nothing wrong with them," reported the superintendent. "I can't understand how the accident occurred."
Some days later, the same woman came to Dr. Wilson's office again, wringing her hand in pain. Dr. Wilson scolded her mildly for her carelessness, prompting her to burst into tears. "Oh, Dr. Wilson, "she cried, "for weeks I have been most miserable. I knew you were a very busy man. I deliberately injured my hand that I might have an excuse to talk to you. I'm not ready to die and I am so wretched I don't want to live unless I can find peace. I heard you could help me."
Dr. Wilson knew what the lady needed. He explained the Gospel to her and she received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. No other message would have taken away the inner conflict and misery of the trouble woman. But Christ saved her and made her new.
There are troubled and burdened people all around us. Many have tried all the supposed answers offered by the world, none of which prepare for heaven or for life abundant here on earth. We have a responsibility to tell them of Christ who loves them, who died for them and who invites them to come to Him in faith to be saved.
We've something to say!
